For young riders
The same path adults follow, at a child's pace
Children start at age 3. Lessons stay at the barn and in the arena, so the age-8 minimum for trail and beach rides does not apply.
Every lesson begins on the ground: grooming, leading and reading the horse, then the saddle. These are the first skills of Level One, the same program adults follow.
Younger children ride 30 minutes. When a child can work a full hour, they move to the one-hour lesson and, if they ride every week, the Lesson Club.

Your child's first lesson
Step 1 Book online
Choose the 30-minute or the one-hour lesson. You get an email with what to wear and when to arrive.
Step 2 Arrive 20 minutes early
Check in, fit a helmet and sign the Participant Agreement. Long pants and closed-toe shoes with a slight heel.
Step 3 Bring the packet
Print the Level One Packet; instructors sign off skills lesson by lesson.

No. Every rider starts at Level One on the ground, and the instructor builds from wherever your child begins.
Yes. ASTM-certified helmets are provided, and every rider under 18 wears one.

Yes. The Junior Club, for ages 3 to 6, is eight pony rides and one 30-minute lesson a month for $256.50, with youth movie nights and club events.
