Every boarder is an academy student
We only accept boarders who join the Leyden Horsemanship Academy and take at least one lesson a month. If you will not ride with us at least once a month, this is not the barn for you, and we will say so up front.

Five ways to board, priced per month. Each includes daily cleaning, alfalfa cubes fed twice a day, and use of the facility and trails. Academy lessons are booked separately, with at least one a month.

Step 2 Tour the barn
Book a property tour online and walk the barn, the paddock and the trails. Book a tour.
Step 3 Book your first lesson
Book a single lesson or join the Lesson Club, then pay your first and last month's board and move your horse in. Your first lesson starts at Level One, on the ground. See lesson options.

What boarders use
Arena and round pen
Both are part of the facility boarders use. Lessons have first right to the arenas and round pens. Boarders may ride alongside a lesson, at the level of the least experienced rider in it.
Trails
Use of the trails comes with every boarding option. Ask on your tour about the ride down to the beach, which depends on the tide.
Lessons and training
The academy teaches here, so your lessons and 30-day training for your horse happen a short walk from the stall.

Pass Level One in the academy and you can lease one of our horses 1 to 5 weekdays a week or full time, from $491.25 a month with feed and board included.
Start Level One. Groundwork first, then riding, across many of our horses and instructors.

Boarding is only offered to owners who join the Leyden Horsemanship Academy and take at least one lesson a month.
Yes. Every boarder joins the Leyden Horsemanship Academy and takes at least one lesson a month. We do not accept boarders who will not ride with the academy, and there are no exceptions. One lesson a month is the minimum; most boarders ride more.
We are a teaching barn. When every person in the barn handles horses the same way, with the same pressure and release language, the herd stays calm and safe, and that includes your horse. Monthly lessons keep you and your horse progressing together instead of drifting.
Book at least one single lesson online each month, or join the Lesson Club (Bronze is 4 lessons a month, Silver 8, Gold 12). Both work. You can ride on one of our horses or, once your instructor agrees, on your own.
Yes. Every student starts at Level One, on the ground, and your instructor builds from wherever you begin. Experienced riders usually move through it quickly, and the free online Courses 100 to 103 let you get ahead at home.

No. We do not allow outside trainers, and boarders may not lease their horse to others or give lessons to outside guests here. Lessons and training on the property are given by Leyden Horsemanship.
